Forces of Evil UNLEASHED
Having done some analysis on the average/median unit cost and upkeep of TDD Good vs Evil units, I came to the conclusion that a major contributing reason behind why the Good campaign feels easy is due to the fact that Evil units are only fractionally less expensive than Good units by around 20 gold (even if you removed Harad from the equation due to Mumakil pricing!). Considering that orcs and their counterparts are effectively enslaved warriors, they should be much cheaper to maintain vs. men and elves.
- Good units cost +25% more to recruit vs. Vanilla TDD
- Good units demand +25% more upkeep per turn vs. Vanilla TDD
- Evil units cost -25% less to recruit vs. Vanilla TDD
- Evil units demand -25% less upkeep per turn vs. Vanilla TDD
- Elite Uruk units, incl. White Hand Stormers and Berserkers, now have access to "Uruk Rampage" ability, which vastly improves their offensive combat capabilities when activated.
- Orcs, Goblins and Uruk are now +50% faster on the battlefield vs. their Vanilla TDD stats, making these units more maneuverable. This is also lore-friendly as Tolkien himself describes all 3 as strong, swift, quick and nimble on several occasions throughout the LOTR books.
- Evil factions will field greater numbers
- Evil factions have better initiative on the battlefield due to their speed boost, meaning Good factions must play more defensively and reactively
- Good factions will struggle to sustain multiple strong armies
- Good factions will need to rely much more heavily on garrisons
For the best experience, play on Hard Campaign / Normal Battle Difficulty.
This should be compatible with "The Combined Might of Mordor" mod, if you are looking for an even greater challenge, provided you load this mod at the top of the mod list.
