Jaggid’s Improved Fermenter (& Distillery)
Adds large batch recipes to the fermenter and Distiller, allowing you to make larger batches at one time.
Also adds the following new things and changes to the game:
- Cactus Hooch – Liquor made from Cactus Slime, which is unlocked when beer is researched. Made in the fermentation barrel.
- Agave Moonshine – recipe to make moonshine from Agave, unlocked with distillation research. Made on the distiller.
- Adds new recipe to make antibiotics from Coconuts, available when new research project is completed.
- Canned Meat from Poultry, Palm Fruits or Insect meat, which helps extend the shelf life of these meats that do not have a dryed meat option. Originally from Sarge85’s Canned Meat mod, which is no longer receiving updates. Note that I did not include an option to can red meat as you can just dry that.
Unlocked by research of Pickling. - Reduced resource cost for making Kimchi, because it was way out of wack compared to other food recipes in terms of input calories vs. output calories.
- Kimchi recipes which use local ingredients for both the Sobrius and Desertum maps, so that your survivors can enjoy a version of Kimchi no matter which region you are playing in. Assuming you discover the 2 local ingredients required to learn to research it.
- Added recipes to make Rum from Sweet Syrup. Rum is an alcoholic beverage.
This requires completion of research to unlock the fermentation barrel (via Beer or Pickling research) and the distillery. Sweet Syrup is first fermented into Fermented Sweet syrup and then distilled into Rum. Fermented Sweet syrup can also be eaten raw, and has a longer shelf life than standard Sweet Syrup.
If you’re just looking for the ability to craft larger batches of things across the board, I’d recommend Batch Crafting instead. This mod is more for those who want the option for smaller or larger batches without having to muck about in settings to switch between them.
For additional large batch recipe options see Improved Oil Press, Large Batch Recipes and Family Meals.
For those curious, the reason for multiple, smaller mods for these new recipes is because I prefer a modular approach to mods, rather than single, large mods that do a lot of stuff. It’s both easier to maintain as a mod creator, and easier to eliminate any mod conflicts for the end user.
