Critical Existence Failure
– TV Tropes
Critical Existence Failure is demonstrated repeatedly by Ravenfield soldiers when they can continue to fight on with all of their abilities intact, as long as they have even a sliver of their HP bar remaining. But at that point, the slightest bit of shrapnel, or a sudden startle from the air horn will not only kill, but insta kill them.
This mod will avert that somewhat by introducing a handicaps as soldiers approach low health. Using Panchuet’s Revised Knockdown is recommended.
Critical HP Level
If a bot (or the player) falls to or below this HP level (less than or equal to), then they will considered to be in a "critical" state. In this state, any bit of damage beyond what is considered scratch damage will knock them over and incur a large balance damage penalty. If Revised Knockdown is enabled, then this will put the bot out of action for several seconds.
The initial damaging hit that puts the bot below the threshold will cause a knockdown. For instance, if this threshold is set at 50 HP, and a bot at 100 HP receives 60 damage, then they will be knocked down, because 100 – 60 = 40 < 50.
Note that knockdown may still occur from other sources.
Scratch Damage Threshold
Only health damage taken larger than this amount will trigger a knockdown, regardless of the HP level (unless it is enough to kill, of course). This is to prevent the player from being stun locked by mods that add bleeding mechanics, which will inflict small amounts of damage at a frequent rate.
Team and Player Settings
Self explanatory; dictates which teams are affected by this mod. The setting for the player is independent of the team settings. If it is turned off, then the player is not affected regardless of the team settings, and vice versa.
