Historicity and Army Overhaul
Historicity and Army Overhaul is a massive rework of the Crusader Kings III military system. This mod transforms warfare by deeply linking cultural identity to military power, providing both new strategic options and unique rewards for world conquerors.
NEW: Cultural Recruitment Overhaul
The mod doesn’t just tweak existing troops; it vastly enriches the global military roster with new historical depth:
New Recruitable Regiments: Numerous cultures now have access to brand-new Men-at-Arms units, historically accurate to their regions.
Regional Specialization: Each culture has been carefully reviewed to offer unique recruitment options, making every part of the world feel different to play and challenging to conquer.
Historical Balancing: Stats, maintenance costs, and terrain bonuses have been meticulously adjusted to reflect the tactical realities of the medieval era.
The "Spoils of War" System
The mod’s flagship feature: capture the elite remnants of your enemies after crushing them on the battlefield.
Capture Events: Following a total victory, a dedicated event allows you to rally the survivors of the enemy’s elite forces.
Special Elite Corps: These captured troops (such as Gendarmes, Samurai, Cataphracts, etc.) join your army as Special Soldiers.
Beyond the Limits: These units do not consume your regular Men-at-Arms slots. They form a prestigious Praetorian Guard that serves as a living trophy of your past conquests.
A World of Military Diversity
Every major theater of war benefits from new additions—whether recruitable or capturable:
Europe & Holy Roman Empire: Heavy Gendarmes, Longbowmen, Vougiers, and Landsknechts.
Asia & The Orient: Samurai, Onna-musha, Han Crossbowmen, and Saka Cavalry.
Middle East & The Steppe: Mamluks, Mongol Kheshigs, and Seljuk Horse Archers.
Africa & India: Ethiopian Shotelai, Malian Sofa Warriors, and Rajput War Elephants.
