Fringes of Chaos
The fringes of Calradia are filled with threats yet unseen…
Fringes of Chaos transforms Calradia into a more chaotic world. Dangerous nomads roam the eastern steppes, while raiders from the north arrive by sea. Aserai cavalry come from the south seeking plunder. Mysterious tribes lurk in the Battanian highlands, posing a grave threat to outsiders.
Even the Empire is not safe. The barbarian threat grows ever stronger, and rebel bands roam the land like common bandits.

The Empire supplements its tagma tree with levies. Cataphracts serve as the Empire’s spearhead, delivering devastating charges. Additionally, the Varangian Guard—heavy infantry in the northern style—and the Mourtatoi, a mixed-blood cavalry of eastern nomadic descent, provide mobile striking power.
The Aserai field a versatile levy tree alongside heavy cavalry Mameluke, heavy infantry Saqaliba, light cavalry Bedouins, and mounted archer Ghazis—a diverse array of forces.
Sturgia relies on its levy tree and powerful Druzhina cavalry as its main force. They also field Polovtsy, formidable archers and horse archers, as well as Qazaq light cavalry and light horse archers for mobile warfare. A small number of Shieldmaidens also exist.
Battania centers on its tribal warrior tree and powerful Fian archers. The mysterious Amazon warriors and savage Asav tribesmen pose additional threats in the highlands.
Vlandia’s feudal system provides levies, while powerful knights and mercenaries hold the line.
Rogue Black Knights roam the roads as a constant threat.
The Khuzait field an extreme nomadic tree where every soldier is mounted. The Gatan, a subjugated people including infantry, crossbowmen, and cavalry, provide support during sieges. Sauromatai warrior women also roam the eastern plains.
The Nord warrior tree features diverse branches including Hirdman, Berserkers, and Ulfhednar. Shieldmaidens are somewhat more common in Nord culture than in Sturgia.
Additional equipment variants have been added to bandits and vanilla mercenaries.
Several low-tier bandit troops have also been added.
