Vast Studios (A10)
A mid to late game oriented building clustered meant to mimic film production stages. Take the challenge of renting whole buildings and conforming them to your needs.
Includes:
– 4 small office style buildings (including one with two halves for rent, allowing for a low-cost start).
– 5 huge two-story stages (~400 sqm per floor).
– Too many bathrooms attached to the outside of each building (because production stages never have bathrooms facilities nearby which infuriates me greatly).
– Huge basement with ~50 individually rentable hallways for servers/printers to live.
Challenges:
– No natural light indoors (may add to offices in future after some playtesting).
– No real "middle area" for rooms. Will be a pain to assemble specific rooms, i.e. meeting rooms.
– There’s a real necessity to have social teams, as utilizing these large rooms will have them all work closely.
– Outdoor bathroom adds to commute, which lessens available work time.
– No heating or cooling, figure that out yourself (Hint: There’s a lot of basement space, and the stairwells are their own room in the stages for a reason)
NOTE: The campus-style cookie cutter map is a completely different philosophy to map design, deviating from the beautiful architectural marvels found in the workshop, so please let me know what works well or what just doesn’t work at all so I can make this concept better.
