Better Combat AI
This mod allows combine soldiers, metropolice and citizens/rebels to use standoff system which will greatly improve combat in streetwars chapters of Half-Life 2.
Enemies like metropolice and combine soldiers will now less likely to advance against player or other targets unless scripted by map. They are more likely to take cover or retreat from enemy depending from location, taking damage, enemy pressence, losses etc. This is mostly noirced during big shootouts between large group of combine soldiers/metropolice against rebels or other enemies.
Standoffs between large groups will progress slowly as most of the participants are very reluctant to advance unless one of the side takes heavy losses or is assaulted by player. Player can forcefully advance battle line for his allies. Combatants will react to enemy disposition, taking losses, getting damaged or player actions. Once one side takes heavy losses they will start hiding which will trigger other side to slowly advance.
Of course this system wouldn’t fit any level and is more limited than original sttandoffs because of HL2’s limited cfg scripting so expect bugs and ai acting stupid on some occasions.
