[Wuthering Waves] Phrolova Leads the Fractsidus Civilization
A lingering star between life and death, Phrolova—mysterious and dangerous, the silent conductor… As she raises her baton, the resonant frequency she conducts weaves a melody of the soul—one that can craft a beautiful world, or summon legions to its command.
This mod has only been tested with Gathering Storm enabled and all DLCs installed. Gathering Storm is definitely required; other DLCs may also be needed (likely 2–3), but the exact ones are unknown. Multiplayer should work in theory, but has not been extensively tested. Compatibility with major overhaul mods (such as HD, GA, etc.) is unknown.
-
Unique Ability – Embrace the Wailing
+12 Combat Strength when fighting Barbarians. Combat units can convert Barbarian units. Grants a free Settler and Builder upon clearing a Barbarian Outpost, and instantly completes the construction of the next Tacet Field (can be stacked). Builders can be expended to establish Barbarian Outposts, Settlers can be expended to finish city project.
-
Unique District – Tacet Field
Replaces the Encampment. Cheaper to build and does not require population (thus not a specialty district). Unlocked from the start of the game, requires no maintenance, and can be placed on any tile. -1 Amenity. Provides a base +2 Production and +6 Faith adjacency bonus. Gains major adjacency bonuses from other districts but provides no standard bonus. Grants significant adjacency bonuses to nearby districts.Upon completion, this city gains +50% Production toward combat units, and combat units cost 40% less Gold to purchase.
-
Leader Ability – Symphony of Beyond
+18 Combat Strength when fighting Barbarians. At the start of each turn, the Capital is fully healed and its City Defenses restored. All cities regain full Loyalty. The Capital provides +6 Great Musician points. Gains a unique unit, the Phrolova Clone, with one granted for free in the original Capital and each time a new civilization is encountered.
-
Unique Building – Echo Rebitrh Core
Replaces the Armory. Unlocked with Bronze Working. Half the construction cost, but with higher maintenance and increased yields. Provides +1 Great Scientist point, +1 Great Engineer point, and +3 Great Musician points. Contains 2 Great Work of Music slots that auto-theme. Upon completion, the city’s Encampment gains major adjacency from other districts, and provides Science and Culture equal to its adjacency bonus. All cities gain +10% Production when training units. Land units trained in this city receive +25% combat experience.
-
Unique Unit – Phrolova Clone
Cannot be produced. One is granted upon founding the original Capital and each time a new civilization is met. Has no Combat Strength and is returned to the Capital when attacked. 4 Movement, 3 Sight Range. Ignores terrain, features, and rivers for movement and sight. Has and ignores Zone of Control. Embarking and disembarking do not end the turn. Invisible and can detect invisible units. Can climb cliffs. Grants +1 Movement and +5 Combat Strength to friendly and Barbarian units within 3 tiles. Enemy units within 3 tiles, excluding Barbarians, suffer -1 Movement and -5 Combat Strength.
AI Buff: Since the AI is too weak, cities finish Tacet Field immediately. Each time the AI builds a city, it is granted a free Settler and Builder.
All visual assets and materials are sourced from Civilization VI and Wuthering Waves, while music resources are taken from Wuthering Waves. If there is any infringement or offense, please contact me and I will remove them immediately.
No custom diplomacy text or unit models (Phrolova Clone uses the Great Musician model).
Localization only includes Simplified Chinese, machine-translated Traditional Chinese, and machine-translated English.
Tested with Gathering Storm and all DLCs—fully functional under those conditions. If it fails to run, please contact me with the error log. Otherwise, I’ll divine your fate in the stars.
If you enjoyed it, please give it a like. Thank you!
Might update the mod with custom models and dialogue if I ever get time to study those aspects.
Did you pull on the Phrolova banner? I didn’t really mean to… I just wanted to show off my six-chain.
Special thanks to H&emmelfort for their tutorial videos and manuals on Bilibili, and for the MOD tools; to 枫&叶 for the Lua scripting guide.
Thanks also to 糸七’s 诸&葛亮 (千古一相), H&SbF6HSO3F’s 碧&蓝航线 series, O&phidy’s 明&日方舟:巴&别塔, and C&aesar’s 高&贵的加力凯&撒, whose mods offered great reference and inspiration. If any content offends or infringes, please contact me for immediate removal.
And a shoutout to A&nshan_67’s 四&大金刚 for the inspiration behind the layered tribal-village-builder exploit—I tested it here too. Sadly, no perpetual motion, but perhaps Workshop-tier strength at T1? Certainly not as noble as鞍山, but close enough.
Final thanks to 千&古歌’s 珂&莱塔, whose cover I shamelessly imitated.
(Ampersands are used in names to avoid search engines indexing these mods directly.)
(Rambling: The reason this mod is overpowered is because, well… most anime-themed mods on the Workshop are overpowered too! It’s not just because I borrowed ideas from those listed above. My "modding process" is basically: come up with an ability, feel like something’s off while writing it, then search the Workshop for keywords to find a reference. I just use whatever comes up first.)
25.9.4 Update: Added the music tracks that everyone was asking for: four world map BGMs (Slumber in Crimson Beyond, To the Other Shore, Oath of the Netherworld Aria, Fading Melody) and two Phrolova solos as diplomacy BGMs. Personally, they don’t sound quite right—maybe it’s just me? As for custom models… I’ve chickened out. Too difficult!
