Description:
Fleshrending: Destroy body parts

Adds the Fleshrending spell and scroll of Fleshcarving.
Fleshrending is a cruel spell which severs your enemies limb, destroying their body parts and causing bleeding and stun.
The scroll of Fleshcarving can be used to selectively destroy any body part. The ultimate solution for chaos shapes shopping for a new look!

Spell of Fleshrending

Hex that conjures animated, glass-like crystal shards inside the body, tearing through flesh and limbs. A combination of a debuff and an attack spell. Every turn, the spell will attempt to destroy a random body part on the target.
When triggered, the targeted body part is permanently destroyed: any equipped gear is forcibly removed, bleeding is inflicted, and there is a chance to stun the target. The spell has ten stages, the higher the stage the stronger the effects. While the lower stages are relatively weak, higher stages destroy parts more rapidly, cause heavier bleeding and stun more reliably.

Scroll of Fleshcarving

A more elegant method of self-amputation, craftable at the writing table. When used, choose a piece of equipment from your inventory. The scroll will attempt to destroy the body part associated with that item. This will cause heavy bleeding so have some bandages at the ready!

If a body part is successfully destroyed, the selected item is consumed. When used on chaos shapes, the body mutation feat is reduced and FP is refunded if applicable.

This scroll can also be used to remove body parts from allies. To do so, host the ally and use the scroll. The hosted ally will be targeted instead of yourself.

Recovering from lost body parts

The potion of restore body has gained a new ability: it can now regrow lost body parts. To recover NPC parts, throw or gift them a potion.
With this mod, the character note tab will show lost body parts to make it easier to see if any were lost. As a bonus, for chaos shapes, it will also show which extra parts have been grown.

New enemy

A new enemy has been added which can use the spell of Fleshrending against you.

FAQ

Does this work with modded races and classes?
Yes, it will work with everything as long as the body shape is defined normally and the base games body mutation/mutating body feat are used.

I don’t want to deal with destroyed body parts on my character or allies. Can I prevent it from happening?
Yes, through mod config you can prevent your PC and/or your allies body parts from being destroyed.

What happens if a limb added by a gene gets destroyed?
Same as basic parts; they can be regrown using a potion of restore body.

What happens if body parts of a chaos shape are destroyed?
If the destroyed part counts as an extra part, the body mutation feat will decrease. Stats will be readjusted for high level body mutation.
PC characters will get an FP refund. NPC characters will regrow all their parts on the next level up.

What happens if body parts of persistent characters like adventurers are destroyed?
They are capable of healing lost limbs over time. Just imagine they seek out potions of restore body on their own.

How does the Fleshrending spell work exactly?
Every turn, the debuff has a chance to trigger. The potency heavily depends on the stage (one stage is a 10 turn duration). When the spell is triggered and destroys a part, the stage is reduced by one. If there is no part to destroy, a reduced amount of bleeding is applied instead. You can find the exact numbers in this table[i.imgur.com].

Is this balanced?
I believe so. In most cases, destroying body parts is equivalent to destroying gear. The base game already has methods to do this through burning and shattering. This is just an alternate method. Higher level enemies will also resist the spell.
For chaos shapes, it does give them the ability to reshape. But what you will regrow is still random. I never liked how there was no method at all to change parts, especially as the game evolves. This mod will hopefully be a good compromise between complete RNG and save-scumming parts.

Can I add/remove the mod mid-save?
Install: Absolutely.
Uninstall: Yes, but you should make sure there are no persistent characters with missing body parts, without this mod there is no way to recover them.

I found a bug or did something strange and am now unable to restore body parts to a proper state. What can I do?
This mod includes an item to restore your body to the original state, but it can only be obtained through console.
Open the console, enable cheat mode and type: spawn dmp_RemoveBodyParts_reset
Drink the potion or throw/gift it. This will completely reset a characters body to it’s base state, re-adds parts from genes, and refund the body mutation feat.
