SAAB AEW&C PACK
Saab AB is a renowned Swedish global defense and aerospace company founded in 1937 and headquartered in Linköping, Sweden. It originally developed and manufactured combat aircraft for the Swedish Air Force. After decades of development, it has grown into a comprehensive defense supplier covering four core sectors: aviation, power systems and surveillance
In the late Cold War period, Sweden launched a low-cost, lightweight airborne early warning aircraft program to address threats in Nordic airspace. In the 1990s, using its own SAAB 340B turboprop regional airliner as the platform, Saab introduced the S‑100B “Argus”, the world’s first mass‑produced “balance‑beam” AEW aircraft, establishing its unique technical path. Meanwhile, through technology licensing, Saab partnered with Brazil to develop the EMB‑145 AEW&C, opening up the international market. To improve range and endurance, Saab later developed the Saab 2000 AEW based on the larger Saab 2000 platform, while continuously upgrading mission systems to enhance airborne command and multi-target guidance capabilities. Entering the 21st century, responding to new demands for air, maritime, and ground multi-domain surveillance, Saab integrated the advanced Erieye ER GaN radar, maritime surveillance radar, electro-optical turret, and electronic reconnaissance systems. Using the Bombardier Global 6000 business jet as the platform, it created the GlobalEye, a next-generation multi-domain airborne early warning and control aircraft, achieving a leap from single air surveillance to full-domain integrated monitoring. Its family of AEW aircraft has been exported to many countries including Thailand, Poland, Greece, and the United Arab Emirates.
This mod adds a series of airborne early warning aircraft developed by Sweden’s Saab AB, along with liveries for different nations.
