This mod requires: RE_Kenshi [www.nexusmods.com] & the original source mod. English patch recommended.
The new sounds should be shown as loaded in the RE_Kenshi debug log as seen in the picture above.

What this mod is

Thanks to RE_Kenshi it is now possible to custom sounds to Kenshi. While still limited by the way Kenshi works, it offers great possibilities.
This mod adds firing sounds to all firearms of the GunManufacture+ mod. Currently there are 21 37 unique sound effects, the rest of the guns share those effects.

Changes & Limitations

Even though RE_Kenshi is really black magic, there are FCS-related limitations.

How this mod works

While the actual shooting sound cannot be changed, the reload animation sound can and that is what has been done here. For bolt-action and other single fire weapons this is no issue at all, as the reload animation starts immediately after shooting; so the shot is heard right after the weapon was fired.
As the reload animation plays the shooting sound, this does not work with the way the original mod handles automatic weapons.

Automatic weapon change

GunManufacture+ handles automatic weapons like the multi-barrel turret. Once reloaded, the weapon has x shots until it has to be reloaded, so the shot would only be heard each magazine change.
All automatic weapons have been changed to fast firing single fire weapons and have their reload time greatly reduced. Reload time is also no longer dependant on skill and quality (might be balanced/changed).
This comes with the disadvantage of only having a fake auto fire mode, as the rifleman has to aim again after each shoot. I might be able to whitewash this is by using longer sound effects which blend into another, to make it sound more automatic. Right now the MP40 sound effect does a pretty good job at this when firing fast enough.
This is the only way to make every shoot of an automatic weapon hearable. On the bright side, it reduces ammo usage.

– Sounds fade off over distance
– Work in progress, more custom sounds will come
– Turrets have no reloading animation, so they can’t have sound.
