Description:
SSVOA: Speed, Surprise, Violence of Action (v2)

Mod Intent

The goal of this mod is to make combat more lethal and to maximize the tactical advantages and disadvantages of Dynamic Clearance and Deliberate Clearance.

By slightly tweaking the global parameters for all humans (both your operators and the enemy), the mod rewards initiative, punishes mistakes, and emphasizes the importance of landing the first shot or gaining fire superiority.

Vanilla vs. v2 Number Changes

This mod changes specific values in human_params.xml:

Reaction Time

    [] combatStartedReactionTimeMS: Increased from 1500 to 1700.

Suppression

[] suppressionNearMiss: Increased from 2 to 2.3.[] suppressedMovePercent: Changed from -25 to -28.[] suppressedAccuracyPercent: Changed from -100 to -110.

Flinch & Stun (Lethality)

[] flinchChancePerDmgPoint: Increased from 1.0 to 1.5.[] flinchStunDurationMsec: Increased from 100 to 200.

Expected Gameplay Effects

These numerical changes create the following specific mechanics in the game:

[] Reaction Delay: The global reaction time is slightly longer (1.7 seconds). The unit that initiates the engagement (e.g., peeking a corner or breaching a door) has a slight timing advantage before the target returns fire. This benefits methodical, Deliberate Clearance.[] Suppression Value: Near misses cause more suppression. Suppressed units suffer a higher penalty to their movement speed and accuracy. Firing rounds into a room to suppress enemies provides a stronger defensive benefit during a fast, Dynamic Clearance.

  • First Hit Advantage: Getting hit by a bullet has a higher chance to cause a flinch, and the stun duration is doubled (0.2 seconds). The unit that lands the first shot will reliably stop the target from returning fire.

Compatibility

This mod only modifies the global human_params.xml file. It is highly compatible with most enemy AI mods, especially those that only modify enemy entities, loadouts, or equipped weapons.
