Character Traits Expansion UPDATED
I’m excited to introduce the Character Traits Expansion (77 New Traits!) for Total War: Pharaoh Dynasties. This mod significantly enhances the RPG aspect of Pharaoh’s characters by adding 77 brand new traits that your characters can acquire in the campaign. Each trait is crafted to enrich character development and align with the style and vibe of traits from Medieval 2, Rome Total War, Attila, and Rome 2, while maintaining balance and compatibility with the base game. Most of the new traits are straight up ports of traits from those games.
Traits are gained by meeting certain conditions, such as being present in a settlement during the construction of a military administration building, a farm, or a mine just as some examples. Spending time in settlements with certain buildings can gain characters traits related to that building, like taverns/beer halls resulting in characters picking up drinking or gambling. Winning and losing battles against a given culture can result in that character hating or fearing that culture. Characters now also inherit traits from their parents!
Enjoy the enhanced character depth and flavor! Please report any bugs or balance issues you encounter.
- Conqueror – awarded for destroying factions
- Bloody – acquired from suffering high casualties
- Heretic – gained through adopting the Legacy of Akhenaten
- Inbred – inherited through lineage
- Lucky/Unlucky – earned from ambushing or being ambushed
- Sea Legs – developed from extensive time at sea
- Degenerate – developed from spending time in a settlement with Palaces of Pleasures
- Scout- developed from spending time outside of settlements
- Epithets for many traits such as "the Cruel," "the Cuckold," and "the Brave!"
1. Is this mod compatible with other mods?
– This mod is designed to be compatible with most mods that do not extensively overhaul character traits. Theoretically this might include big overhauls like Agony or Radious, though I haven’t tested it.
2. Can I use this mod with existing save games?
– Yes, the mod is compatible with ongoing campaigns. However, you cannot disable it once you’ve activated it and saved your campaign with it enabled.
If you enjoy this mod and want to say thanks, please consider buying me a coffee!
