The GK series refers to the high-speed battleship project (Studienentwürfe für Schnelle Großkampfschiffe) developed in March 1918. GK4541 specifically denotes the first design variant within this series, featuring a designed displacement of 45,000 tons and four twin-mounted 420mm main guns.

All these project studies were purely for evaluation purposes and never progressed to the construction planning stage.
