Luftwaffe F-4F
The F-4F was a simplified export variant of the F-4 Phantom II fighter, specifically developed for the West German Air Force during the Cold War. Entering service in the early 1970s, its initial version focused on visual-range air combat. It underwent the comprehensive "Peace Rhine" modernization program in the 1980s, which equipped it with beyond-visual-range and multi-role capabilities. Serving as the primary air defense interceptor for West Germany and later unified Germany, it was finally retired from German service in 2013.
