I loved using the Arquebus mod by Xander a few years back and for fun I updated its mechanics to 1.18. I attempted to keep it as similar to the original without modifying too much, but I have made my own balance changes which I may or may not add a game rule to modify later on. I will try my best to keep this updated and add some extra content but no promises.
- Unique MaA regiment, the Arquebusier, a strong ranged unit wielding the power of gunpowder!
- Unique Cultural MaA regiments! Wield the power of the Janissaries or master the powerful Spanish Tercios! (And more!)
- Unique Buildings that can be constructed to improve the capabilities of ALL your gunpowder units!
- Improve the effectiveness of your Arquebusiers with a decision, and event chain, to make it happen!
- The unique "Arquebusier" unit type has been removed and replaced with the vanilla "Gunpowder" unit type for compatibility.
- All gunpowder units have the same limit as vanilla handgunners, meaning you need to build gunpowder buildings to be able to recruit more gunpowder MAA (to balance out the gunpowder strengths).
- Gunnery ranges also now apply Gunpowder buffs instead of the old Arquebusier buffs, meaning it will apply buffs to all gunpowder units (Handgunners and Fire Lances included)
- Handgonne, Fire Lances, and Rockets have been replaced with vanilla Handgunners, Fire Lancers, and Rocket Carts that have been added with All Under Heaven.
- The decision to seek out gunpowder has been disabled as you can research gunpowder via innovation normally.
- Cultural Traditions with an emphasis on gunpowder warfare.
- More unique MAA.
- Adding gunpowder domiciles for estates.
- Adding gunpowder buildings for landless adventurers.
- Adding Master Gunner court position which buffs gunpowder.
Hypothetically should be fine with most mods as long as they don’t alter innovations or men at arms. If a big mod requires a compatch, no promises but I will look into making one. Not compatible with building mods.
