Inspired by the video game "Escape From Tarkov", mod "Escape From Knox County".
Special thanks to Oneline, the creator of the great framework "SSR: Quest System". SSR:Quest System is very powerful and easy to use. If you want to create your own quest mod, I highly recommend you to use it.
EFZ is a story-driven quest mod where you explore post-zombie apocalypse Knox Country, complete quests, and farm items. It can be played in singleplayer or dedicated server multiplayer.
15 Main Quests and 16 Sub Quests: Players complete quests to help survivors and continue their journey to survival.
Expanding Playable Area: At the start of the game, the only area you can explore is Muldraugh, but as you complete main quests, the searchable area expands.
Story Progression Through Quests: Complete quests and talk to NPCs to uncover the truth behind the crisis threatening survivors and uncover the root of the problem.
Airborne Infection: Unlike the vanilla Zomboid, players are not immune to airborne infection.
Recurring: Even if you cure the infection with a vaccine mod or something, your character will be infected with the Knox virus again in a few days.
Mask is not important: Medical masks, gas masks, oxygen respirators—none of them can protect players from infection. The only way to escape inevitable infection is to return to the bunker.
Free Housing: Players will get independent living space.
Feel free to decorate as you like!: Paint, brushes, and all kinds of furniture to make your hideout look great!
Delete all items when you die: If you die after enabling ‘Extreme Mode’ in Sandbox settings, your corpse, zombies, and any loot items obtainable from them will all disappear.
No Item Recovery: Lost items cannot be recovered, and players must either purchase new equipment or rearm using equipment they have previously collected.
Safety for quest items: Quest items will drop at your death position if you had them enabled in ‘Extreme Mode’ Sandbox settings.
It means nothing: EFT stands for Escape From Tarkov, and since this mod is a mod for Project Zomboid, I initially created the acronym EFT by replacing the T with Z. However, throughout the entire mod development process, I never settled on a full name for the acronym. Even now.
Not really: Since SSR Quest System does not support co-op multiplayer, EFZ cannot be played in co-op multiplayer. You can still play this mod on dedicated server, though.
Illustrations and music, and some of the code in this mod are created by AI, or supported by AI tools.
