BMW E28
The BMW E28 was the second generation of the 5 series, successor of the E12 and predecessor of the E34. Development ran from the mid to the late seventies under the supervision of chief designer Claus Luthe, first models produced in late 1980. End of production was late 1987. It was the car that invented the supersport sedan category with the M5 introduced in 1984.
The E28 was offered with 2 diesel and 9 petrol options. This mod includes 4 versions:
520i: Slightly above entry level, this model features the smallest 2.0 liter 6 cylinder petrol engine producing 125 horsepower, and was a very popular configuration of the time.
524d Taxi: The 524td with turbocharger was a lot more popular, this diesel engine was naturally aspirated, and promises good fuel economy, and modest speed. I made this to make it more viable to use as a taxi, base price is cheaper, consumes less fuel.
528i Police: The 528i was popular in autobahn police fleets because of the extra performance it delivers compared to more base models 518, 520, or 525i.
M5: This model defined the fast sedan category for the following decades. The engine came from the brand’s supercar, the M1 E26, producing 286 horsepower. Extras: Headlight wipers, shadowline trim, sunroof.
I made several variations for the M5, namely 6 of them, you can find the NMF files in options.zip if you want to modify the car’s looks.
