Magnificent Syracuse
Do you ever play against Syracuse as Athens and confuse your blue troops with their blue troops? Or perhaps you play as Bactria and confuse your troops for the troops of Syracuse? Or are you the one who plays as Syracuse and confuse your azure clad armies for that of practically EVERY other Greek faction in the game?
Then this is the mod for you.
Personally, I like blue and love Syracuse but I’ve found myself more often than not HATING the fact that it was difficult to tell who is who when your army is mid brawl, especially when their roster is shared almost entirely with Athens and partially with all the other Hellenistic factions. I mean, it’s bad enough that Syracuse was considered a MINOR city in release but that’s not the point. The point is, I’ve taken it upon myself to change Syracuse’s from the nearly the same blue as Athens (which was Syracuse’s historical enemy) to the colors of their civil war counterparts. Which I was reminded was white.
Avoiding confusion with Carthage (also Syracuse’s historical enemy), I’ve decided to draw inspiration from Corinth (the original Syracuseans). The standard color of Corinth is a very light yellow, as if it were unbleached linen. Using the RGB of the secondary color, I attached it to Syracuse’s primary color while also darkening the blue as a secondary and lightening the red as a tertiary, Later, I extended the coloration to Corinth in Wrath of Sparta. In campaign, Syracuse should be a delightful, cooling cream while surrounded by a sea of blue (pun unintended).
This mod does not change anything else inside the game apart from color.
Abridged List of Changes:
1) Switched Syracuse Civil War Faction’s colors, emblems, and banners with Syracuse.
2) Standardized colorization for Syracuse in Hannibal at the Gates and Grand Campaign, Korinthos in Wrath of Sparta, and associated Civil War factions.
3) Same cream color as vanilla, marginally darkened blue, marginally brighter red.
4) Implied that yellow of any shade or hue grants the title of "Magnificent"
