RPG Remastered
Turn natural learning into spendable Knowledge in Free mode, or switch to Classic mode for mastery points, prestige resets, and a branching RPG progression atlas.
RPG Remastered is a maintained, streamlined RimWorld 1.6 fork of Reeve’s RPG Growth. It keeps the original progression fantasy, then expands it with bug fixes, performance cleanup, UI upgrades, broader compatibility, deeper configuration, and an optional second progression style.

Two Progression Modes:
- Free Mode keeps the open-ended sandbox: earn Knowledge from natural learning and spend it directly on skills, passions, stats, traits, and the shared global pool.
- Classic Mode (Beta) converts growth into Mastery Points and replaces direct stat buying with a branching mastery system built around milestone leveling and prestige.
Free Mode Features:
- Colonists generate spendable Knowledge whenever they gain skill XP naturally, and gain respects learning factor plus a configurable knowledge multiplier.
- Spend or refund skill XP directly in vanilla skills with projected level previews, natural XP-curve handling, full refunds down to level 0, and the standard level cap of 20.
- Change passions in the same window, including vanilla passions and compatible expanded passions, with Knowledge costs or refunds based on the passion selected.
- Spend Knowledge on a large auto-built list of supported humanlike pawn stats with category grouping, search, collapsible headers, live value previews, explanation tooltips, scaling costs, and per-stat bonus overrides.
- Optional negative stat levels, diminishing negative refunds, and zero-stat safety rules give you fine control over stat dumping and edge cases.
- Legacy, removed, unsupported, expertise-owned, or over-cap stat investments are automatically cleaned up and refunded on load.
- Buy new traits or sell existing ones for Knowledge, including negative-cost traits, clean trait skill-gain reversal, conflict warnings, and Random Trait/Random Good Trait rolls.
- Move unused Knowledge between pawns through a shared world-level Global Knowledge pool, with optional colonist death refunds that can return stored Knowledge and tracked positive stat investment to the pool.
Classic Mode Features:
- Every 5 levels in a skill earns a Mastery Point, and compatible expertises can also feed the mastery economy.
- Level 20 skills can prestige back to 0 so they can keep earning more Mastery Points, with colony alerts when prestige is available.
- Spend Mastery Points in a dedicated mastery atlas with themed lines, 1000+ nodes with tooltips, purchase confirmations, zooming, panning (WASD), and line navigation.
- Mastery nodes use prerequisites, line-investment requirements, repeatable ranks, capstones, stat bonuses, and trait add/remove effects to create a more traditional RPG progression feel.
- The mastery system includes broad lines for combat, work, survival, learning, and social roles, plus specialized paths for things like mechanitors, genecraft, and psionics where relevant.
- Stat and trait filters let you highlight matching mastery nodes so it is easier to plan a build around a specific bonus or trait outcome.
UI, Settings, and Compatibility:
- Every player colonist gets a dedicated Knowledge/Mastery gizmo that opens the progression window.
- Free mode uses four tabs: Skills, Stats, Traits, and Global. Classic mode uses Skills and Masteries.
- The window is resizable, remembers its size and position, and includes searchable trait and stat lists plus searchable passion and mastery-filter pickers.
- Settings cover progression mode, knowledge gain, base costs, cost growth, passion pricing, death refunds, negative levels, zero-stat behavior, trait multipliers, and advanced stat whitelist/blacklist plus per-stat bonus overrides.
- Vanilla Skills Expanded/compatible expertise mods: Expertises appear in the same progression window, grouped by source mod, can be advanced or refunded in Free mode, and can award Mastery Points in Classic mode. Expertise-owned stats are hidden from direct stat buying to prevent double-dipping.
- Expanded passion systems: Compatible VSE-style passions are detected automatically in the passion picker.
- [SYR] Trait Value: If installed, trait pricing can use that mod’s trait-value data instead of only the internal heuristic.
- All skill, expertise, and direct-spend levels are capped at 20 in RPG Remastered. If you want uncapped levels, use Endless Everything.

The gizmo texture was created by me in Photoshop while mirroring RimWorld’s own visual language.
RPG Remastered is a maintained RimWorld 1.6 fork of Reeve’s RPG Growth, and it will keep growing from here. None of this would exist without Reeve’s original work, so if this fork is not for you, please give the original a look as well.
