Description:

Make everyone in the Rim a furry. All xenotypes receive thematic anthro genes. Cosmetic only. Because every colony deserves more fluff.

Adds anthro fur, ears, tails, and headbones to every xenotype. Each xenotype receives a themed pack matching its identity: hussars get predators, dirtmoles get burrowers, genies get foxes, and so on. All genes are purely cosmetic, zero stat changes, zero costs.

How It Works: Sets and Packs

  1. A set is a group of genes that create one full anthro appearance (e.g. bear fur + bear ears + bear tail = bear set).
  2. A pack is a container with one or more sets. When a pawn spawns with a pack gene, the Random Genetics Framework picks one random set and applies it.
  3. Themed packs group sets by theme (e.g. the "Violent" pack has wolf, shark, bear). Each pawn gets a random appearance from the themed pool.

Two hussars in the same colony might look different (one a shark, one a wolf) but both fit the "violent combatant" theme.

Available Sets (35+)

15 Anthrosonae sets (always available): Bear, Cat, Cow, Deer, Drake, Fox, Griff, Goat, Horse, Hyena, Red Panda, Rabbit, Shark, Wolf, Wah
10 Mammalia sets (optional): Barkkin, Bonecrown, Wiretail, Hidewing, Seertusk, Hindhopper, Haytankard, Cloudpuff, Devilpuff, Blastheart with cosmetic-only copies, all stats stripped.
9 Feline sets (optional): Cheetah, Cougar, Housecat, Leopard, Lion, Lynx, Serval, Snow Leopard, Tiger
1 Kobold set (optional): Head, ears, tail, 3 cosmetic horn variants.
Mixed sets: Dryad Deer and Sanguophage vampires; unique cross-mod combinations.

Settings

Hiding settings for genes, xenotypes and factions.

Additional hiding settings per mod are described in the Integrations section above.

Note: Hiding xenotypes/factions requires a restart and is not savegame-safe. Hiding genes via VEF is savegame-safe.

Many more cosmetic genes as the forms of sets will appear in the genepool, decreasing the value of xenogenes a bit. There are mod to separate cosmetic from functional genes. I recommend using those. I don’t touch much the xenogenes system in my gameplays so I don’t know how disruptive this really is.

FAQ

Q: Does this affect balance?
A: No. Every gene is purely cosmetic.

Q: Is this savegame-safe?
A: Yes to add. Existing pawns won’t get new genes, only newly generated ones. Not to remove.

Q: Why are xenotypes hidden by default?
A: Anthrosonae and Feline xenotypes are redundant since this mod redistributes their genes. Re-enable in settings.
