HERO
HERO cooks up a fight!
Coming from the VAST FOREST of OMORI, he has joined Rivals of Aether to fight using his baking and cooking skills.
This character was made in an attempt to mimic the way he can act in his party from his game, being able to weaken enemies and strengthen himself.
During a fight, he is able to summon an oven (don’t ask how he brought this), which slowly cooks food over time. The timer for this can be seen on his HUD (alongside special cooldowns) and next to the oven itself. When this meter is full, HERO can improve his various special moves for a single attack, making them more effective, while using up the meter. However, the meter recharges fairly quickly. When being near the oven, he will gain a temporary boost to his strong moves, making them deal more knockback, also using up the meter. However, the oven only can withstand five hits, where it will disappear once its health reaches zero.
Special moves:
Cook/Fast Food/Snack Time –
The oven can be placed down or removed with NSPECIAL, and will slowly cook food over time. When the meter is full, NSPECIAL will change to become FAST FOOD/SNACK TIME, where HERO will throw foods onto the stage, which he can pick up to heal, or damage others upon hit. Quickly tapping special will shoot out a single item that travels quickly and far, while holding down the special button will increase the amount of items released onto the stage (up to 5), increasing the amount HERO or his allies can heal by. Using this move will decrease the amount of HP the oven has by one.
Share Food/Spicy Food –
HERO can use his FSPECIAL to throw a plate of food at his enemies, damaging them. SHARE FOOD deals slight damage with no effect, while SPICY FOOD (being used if the cook meter is full) will deal slightly more damage and burn opponents. This move has a short cooldown.
Smile/Dazzle –
HERO’s DSPECIAL stuns enemies upon hit, and lowers the strength of their attacks for a brief period of time. With a full meter, SMILE will become DAZZLE, making having the same effects as SMILE while making enemies HAPPY. HAPPY enemies will take more knockback from most of HERO’s attacks. The tier of HAPPY can also be increased, by hitting an already affected enemy with DAZZLE, being able to increase from HAPPY to ECSTATIC to MANIC, with decreasing weight, ground friction and increasing pratfall speed. The timer can be increased by hitting already affected enemies with the move too.
It can also act as a counter, that lets him absorb the knockback of a hit when in startup, and successfully doing so making the rest of the move also have super armour. However, not getting hit during the startup of the move will mean HERO is not protected from knockback in the rest of the attack, making the move relatively risky to use.
Tenderise –
His USPECIAL makes him spin into the air, hitting enemies and dealing a stronger hit at its peak. Successfully hitting the move will allow HERO to act out of it once it is finished, but missing will put him into pratfall. The knockback power of the final hit of TENDERISE will increase when the meter is full, while also boosting him into the air a little bit further.
The rest of his moves use his various weapons (including an unused one) that he uses in the game. I hope you have fun playing as this character!
