Description:

NOTE: I have temporarily/unofficially added Code:X’s NATO back into this mod until the faction is officially re-released. This is a stopgap restore, so expect bugs, zero-balance, missing units, and other inconsistencies. I did my best to rename and reconnect everything after the latest Code:X updates broke a lot of IDs, but some things may still be off. Once Code:X officially brings NATO back, I plan to remove this temporary NATO portion from this mod.

AI & Battlefield Systems Overhaul

The AI is smarter in this mod. Expect a challenge!

Based on my original Code:X Conquest AI Overhaul and built specifically for the new Code:X + CTRM Combined – Compatibility Patch, this mod transforms the combined AI of both mods into a far more tactical opponent. The AI now reacts to contact faster, spreads out more naturally, uses suppression and flanking pressure, and behaves much less like a wave of units sprinting blindly into your position. Conquest has also been reworked to create heavier, more dynamic battles across all modern and historical factions.

What This Mod Changes
  • Smarter Combat AI: Enemy units across both Code:X and CTRM factions react to fire much faster, return fire more reliably, and are less likely to wander or suicide-rush flags while taking casualties.
  • Fire & Maneuver Combat System: Under fire, AI squads split into tactical roles. Some units (60%) hold and suppress while others (40%) maneuver forward to pressure or flank your position. This creates more believable assaults instead of one-directional charges.
  • Suppression-Based Engagements: Squads spread out more naturally, use cover better, and are more likely to fight as groups instead of bunching up or drifting aimlessly.
  • Conquest Mode Overhaul: Spawn logic, reinforcement timing, and wave sizes have been reworked for the merged ecosystem. Difficulty scaling has also been adjusted so lower difficulties send lighter pressure while higher settings retain the intended challenge.
  • Wounded & Medic Improvements: Infantry on all sides can now enter the wounded state, and AI medics now revive their own wounded.
  • AI Smoke Support: AI medics and advancing AI units use smoke support during assaults and casualty recovery.
  • Horten’s Auto-Loot: AI logic upgrade powered by Horten’s Frontlines scripts. Both player and AI troops can intelligently scavenge useful battlefield weapons, including AT launchers, to improve their effectiveness mid-battle.
  • AI Support Weapon Behavior: AI behavior for artillery and support guns have been expanded and tuned, while AI tanks can also attempt to disengage and seek repairs when badly damaged.
  • Expanded Fortification System: Engineers and regular infantry now have access to custom sandbags, trench assets, and other defensive options (thank you AKR3D).
  • Weather Changer: Includes the Immersive Weather mod by Ivar, with 41 weather presets that can be switched during a match using the weather button on the right side when selecting a single human unit.

Load Order: This mod MUST be loaded AFTER the Code:X + CTRM Combined – Compatibility Patch to properly apply the AI overhaul to all factions.
