Less ugly planet cores
So I was trying to make a base in a planet core for that sweet infinite lava for my frackin’ factory, but then I thought to myself, ‘MAN, cores sure are ugly, huh? I wish someone made a mod that at least gave them a pretty background or something!’ and then I realized I could just do it myself. So here you have it. Thought I’d share it since I put some work into it. There is 4 variants, 1 for the obsidian core, one for the grey stone one, one for the classic brownish rock one, and another for the magmarock core. They all have hueshift so they are compatible with mods that add new biome colors (the background color will change witht the biome rock color aka blue magmarock -> blue magmarock background), and the front layers are light affected.
FAQ:
– That’s cool but I already have my megabase, how does this help ME?!!?!
There is this fun little command that allows you to change the main biome of the layer you are on, simply change that biome back and forth and it will reset the background! Tested on my own base and works.
Command:
/setenvironmentbiome [BIOME]
Replace [BIOME] with the corresponding biome name while in the core to reset the background: gardencorelayer, blaststonecorelayer, magmarockcorelayer, obsidiancorelayer.
– Ok but will uninstalling this break my world?
Well, this doesn’t add any biomes, only changes the background of some, but probably. But there is a way to fix this actually! Basically,
+ take the mod,
+ remove biome changes but not the backgrounds themselves,
+ take the worlds you wanna save,
+ go to their cores
+ do the command I posted above to reset their background to vanilla
+ remove mod remains
Congrats, you saved your worlds!
– I found an issue with the backgrounds!
Ok, tell me the specifics and I’ll try to fix it.
