Strom’s Fur Rework
This mod reworks the role of fur to better reflect its historical importance as a high-value luxury commodity in the late medieval and early modern periods.
Base price of Fur increased from 2 → 3
Increased Burgher demand for Fur
European demand for Fur increased by 50%
Fur is rebalanced as a true luxury good, reflecting its role in elite fashion, court prestige, and long-distance trade networks.
Throughout the campaign, European fur-producing locations gradually lose their fur RGO.
This represents:
Overhunting and ecological depletion
Market saturation followed by supply collapse
The historical decline of Western and Central European fur stocks
As European supply shrinks, economic gravity shifts eastward.
Trade with Novgorod and the Russian fur frontier
Expansion eastward into Siberia
Colonial interest in North America
Long-distance luxury trade networks
