The Garcia-class frigates were a group of 10 US Navy warships built in the 1960s primarily for anti-submarine warfare during the Cold War. They played a key role in protecting carrier groups and convoys from submarine threats and later influenced the development of the Brooke-class frigates. All of the Garcia-class frigates were retired in the late 20th century.
USS Garcia (FF-1040) was the lead ship of Garcia-class frigates.
