Dazzler: ‘Shtora-1’ APS for RHS heavy armor vehicle
This mod adds functionality for the ‘Shtora-1’ Electro-Optical Active Protection System (APS) to T-90 / T-80 tanks that feature this system in the RHS modification.
As I understand it, RHS planned to make this themselves, but it never went further than the textures.
Main Features:
- ATGM Interception: The system automatically deflects incoming guided missiles (TOW, Metis, and some others) flying into the frontal sector of the tank into the ground.
- Laser Warning Receiver (LWR): When a laser is pointed at your tank, the commander receives a visual HUD warning and hears a characteristic audio alarm.
- Threat Source Tracking: The system calculates the position of the laser designator, displaying a dynamic 3D marker over the enemy and an accurate GPS/map marker with the exact distance (enabled by default, can be turned off if desired).
- AI Support: Bots know how to use the APS. The AI turns on the ‘Shtora’ when entering combat mode and turns it off when returning to a safe state.
CBA Settings:
The mod is fully customizable by server admins or players via the CBA menu:
- Adjust the chance (%) of successful ATGM deflection.
- Adjust the chance (%) of the laser warning sensor triggering.
- Toggle the 3D laser source marker on/off.
Recommendations:
Set Dynamic Lighting to High/Very High or above. On low settings, the lights may work incorrectly or not work at all.
