Description

The type 97 Chi-Ha Medium tank was created as a replacement for the outdated type 89 I-Go which had become obsolete by the late 1930s. It was initially armed with a 57mm gun for use against infantry but was soon replaced with a high velocity 47mm gun when it’s shortcomings were revealed during the battle of Khalkin Gol when it’s low velocity gun was insufficient with dealing with Russian tanks like BT-7. The Japanese Army would then go on to use the tank and it’s chassis in various other vehicles throughout the end of the war as Japan did not have the resources to replace them.

Variants:

Note: The Short Ordinary 120mm APHE is intentionally made to have limited ammunition as AP for the 120mm cannon was considered rare
