Flexible Character Window (Elder Kings Edition)
This work is an adaptation of Flamebite’s popular mod for Elder Kings and formerly titled Better Vanilla-Style Character View. As the original author has now stepped back from creating Crusader Kings mods on the Workshop, he has been pleased to entrust the maintenance, revision and, where necessary, improvement of this work to me.
I cannot let this opportunity pass without expressing my sincere gratitude to him for the trust he has placed in me and for the kindness and encouragement he has so generously shown.
Considering that the Vanilla version of the mod remains fully compatible with version 1.18, currently known as Crane, I do not currently see the need to publish a separate announcement or update regarding that vanilla version. Should a situation arise in the future where this compatibility is compromised in a new version of the game, a revised version will be published under the Flexible Character Window in my workshop profile. This statement is provided to keep readers informed and for future reference.
The Flexible Character Window (Elder Kings Edition), retains the conveniences offered by the original design whilst adding numerous details specific to the Elder Kings universe to the character interface, such as the display of Magicka, Arcana and Praxis. Furthermore, a bug that previously prevented characters from casting spells has been fixed. As it stands, the mod works perfectly with the latest version of the Elder Kings mod.
As this character window runs on its own independent modules, it does not conflict with the massive and comprehensive Elder Kings mods currently in widespread use. It can therefore be used without any concerns regarding compatibility.
All that remains is to highlight the key difference between the Flexible Character Window and Expanded Portraits. In the former, the portrait can be enlarged, reduced or hidden entirely at the user’s discretion; in the latter, the portrait frame is large, and its form is fixed. For this reason, I respectfully recommend that you use one of these rather than both, as any attempt to load them together will inevitably result in an error.
I’d also recommend my other Elder Kings mods:
Understated Elegance In Graphics (Elder Kings Edition)
Ultimate Estate (Elder Kings Edition)
The Elder Scrolls Music Collection
Japanese Names for Akaviri
Phaze Makeup for Elder Kings
Expanded Portraits for Elder Kings
