Description:

INFRA is NOT required! Everyone can play this!

INTERNAL NAME: GM_INFRA_SKYSCRAPER (in Sandbox category)

This is a port of one of the maps from the game INFRA made by Loiste Interactive, with a bit more on the side. This map contains the Walter skyscraper, a secret location in the game which can be accessed with a hidden elevator. The building top has a fantastic view over the northern Europe city of Stalburg. From Walter’s office (which was cleaned up), the adjacent room is a cozy library, with a secret passage leading to a hidden, dusty office, and there the elevator (fully functioning) that can lead you down to the foundations of the building, where a much more modest abode is hidden.

To access the secret door, just press the book under the ladder. No need for the time-consuming puzzle from the game!

Note that the elevator automatically spawns at the bottom, moving up, so it might take a few seconds before it gets to the top. Also you can’t call it from the other floor, unfortunately. The doors work but you might have to "use" them repeatedly to close them, and only when the elevator is not moving.

Also you have to close the elevator doors before you can use it. Keep pressing the use key on the left side until they close.

This map port was made with Loiste Interactive’s Oskutin’s permission and support. INFRA truly has the most beautiful maps made in Source, so if you like what you see, please visit the Steam Store page for INFRA and buy it, it’s absolutely worth it!

We’ve adapted the map to GMod, which means the following:

– Fixed and added physical props to the map (Walter’s desk mostly)
– Removed the library puzzle
– All the corruption documents are still present
– Made the elevator go both ways
– The items on Walter’s desk can be moved (except the bottle and the lamp) to allow better posing
– The lamp on Walter’s desk can be turned on and off!

Features:

– HDR and LDR compatible
– Working soundscapes… if you mounted INFRA! The sounds were too big to be included here.
– Working cubemaps
– Working original particles
– Fully optimized

About bots: the map is not fit for bots due to its various level heights and tight spaces. Therefore I deemed useless to make a navigation file and an AI node path file. Sorry about that, but you’ll understand those wouldn’t be of much use.

Special thanks to HAVOK for making his Source compilers[forum.facepunch.com] that push well beyond normal Hammer limits, this map and many others wouldn’t have been possible without them!

Also thanks to NandRand for making a particle converter that works wonders! Release thread on Knockout.[knockout.chat]

Report any bugs you find!

KNOWN ISSUE: you can’t call the elevator from the other floor. That was a bit too much effort to script, so I gave up.
