Description:

This mod will offer a more updated take on the way the world present itself without making intrusive changes to the number of provinces that may break the immersion or just mess with the performance. We don’t add new provinces but just change the shape of those that are in the game to make boundaries between states both more natural for the early eras (feudal serfdoms) and then more refined for the later eras (defined boundaries between nation-states after Wesphalia)

What we do?

– Change provinces to adopt more interesting takes for a common gameplay
– Use wastelands as they are programmed ingame to serve to define ‘de iure’ territories that were not ever occupied in that time period while also making the map more pleasing
– Give the opportunity through small changes to grant the user a better roleplaying experience
– Change some states and small adjustments to colonial regions

What we don’t?

– Add new provinces *
– Add new colonial regions
– Add new mechanics

What may we do in a future?

– Localize the whole world for certain nations and give a more pleasure experience for a roleplay enhancement
– Add new provinces to colonial regions (as giving Papua-New Guinea to Australia i.e.)
– Change the cultures and religions of some provinces to adapt to the more diverse experience of early game
– Add more wastelands

* Technically, wastelands are provinces but we may ignore it as an issue since it won’t make the usually lag problems resulting of too much provinces, states and modifiers. It’d be only to refine what we already do.

– Adjust some stuff from suggestions people make about the map

Notice that a lot of small changes I added (specially on Europe and the Middle East) try to find a compromise with roleplaying and historic reality between 1444 and 1821 so beware that some suggestions about claims like ‘Luxembourg didn’t got those borders before 1841’ may be ignored, which shouldn’t at all be a problem or restrain you to still make such comments (since we may be open to look for a further more refined compromise between such tangents mentioned before)

I’m very respectful with original source and I think it should be worth to note that I stand over the shoulder of giants, and this content is built over the work of third parties and with inspirations of other mods. The most important source I may do is: https://github.com/mawmz/EU4-mbo-lite/releases/tag/Release from Mawmz.

The Shape of History and other mods like Heavy Europe by DΛR Z(ムク火).

This mod ISN’T compatible with any mod that change the map or the trade nodes.

This mod ISN’T compatible with IRON MAN but any mod can be made compatible with a patcher (https://github.com/the-marenga/eu4-patcher)

This mod should be compatible with Europa Expanded which is the main reason I try to be as lite as possible with any changes. Some issues may appear, feel free to report those since I work for both mods. (Hi Lia, hi Stiopa, hi Vara, hi Grumpy)

This mod should be compatible with Expanded Family mods.

Please don’t try to play this mod with Europa Expanded and Expanded Family because you’d be pleased with a lot of bugs that shouldn’t be reported there or here. Chose either of those to play and enjoy.
