Guv’s AI Difficulty Stat Bonus Changes (Legendary, Very hard and Hard)
But once I realised that the AI is actually smarter at Legendary battle difficulty, I knew I had to do something about it. I used a mod that removed all AI Difficulty Bonuses and called it a day… but I realised it wasn’t enough. They are needed to make them function properly.
Why? Because the AI cannot make complicated moves and manouvers. They’re predictable while you can surprise them. They need to have some bonuses to turtle while you need to play around it. So I decided to help myself and do some edits of my own.
- Made reasonable changes to the Legendary, Very hard and Hard Battle AI hidden stat bonuses, while also adding Morale bonuses at higher difficulties.
Edits that I have made to difficulty hidden stat bonuses. Why I made specifically these changes is to help the AI sustain longer fights and they will rally more often, while reducing and removing some more blatant stat increases.
On Legendary:
Removed Charge bonus +20%
Removed Melee attack bonus +20% (a stat that is not used, but ok?)
Removed Melee Interval bonus +20%
*New*: Morale +8 for all AI controlled units
Changed Melee damage bonus from +20% to 10%
Changed Melee defence bonus from +20% to 10%
On Very hard (and hard I guess?)
Removed Charge bonus +10%
Removed Melee attack bonus +10% (a stat that is not used, but ok?)
Removed Melee Interval bonus +10%
*New*: Morale +4 for all AI controlled units
Changed Melee damage bonus from +20% to 5%
Changed Melee defence bonus from +20% to 5%
Here are the vanilla values for comparission purposes.
Vanilla Legendary:
Charge bonus +20%
Melee attack +20% (a stat that is not used, but ok?)
Melee attack interval +20% (says it’s 0.8 in value, so the lower the better I presume?)
Melee damage +20%
Melee evasion +20%
Missile reload rate +20%
Vanilla Very hard (and hard I guess?):
Charge bonus +10%
Melee attack +10% (a stat that is not used, but ok?)
Melee attack interval +10% (says it’s 0.8 in value, so the lower the better I presume?)
Melee damage +10%
Melee evasion +10%
Missile reload rate +10%
This mod should be compatible with anything that aims to do the same. I recommend to NOT use the mod that removes all stat bonuses. However, if you only want the +8 leadership bonus, I think you can use both mods if you find the right load order.
