Fraught Winter
Fraught Winter is a world where the Great War played out much differently than our own.
The timeline diverges from ours in 1891, when Nicholas Alexandrovich, heir to the Russian throne, is assassinated in Japan, and thus resutling in Micheal Alexandrovich ascending the throne upon the death of Tsar Alexander III.
Micheal II’s reforms and more liberal policies allowed him to reform the Russian Army just in time for Russia to claim victory in the Russo-Japanese war.
Upon the assissnation of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and the Austrian invasion of Serbia, the Great War begins. In the east, Russia is able to occupy Galicia-Lodomeria and portions of East Prussia. Though in the west German troops slowly over the course of months approach paris.
In early 1917, the French front lines finally collapse as soldiers take up arms against the central government and declaring a new communist regime, with a similaire uprising accouring in Italy several months later, yet Britain stubbornly remains in the war and focuses on aiding Russia instead. By late 1918, German lines finally collapse as revolutionaries take up arms against the Kaiser. As Germany collapses entirely, Russia and Britain declare victory in the Great War.
Now, in 1926, the Great Game between Britain and Russia has restarted, however this time with the socialist Western Europe competing as a 3rd bloc in this battle of influence throughout the world.
