SSL SSL Mega Man
SSL Mega Man, the super fightin’ robot, is a heavyweight zoner that put all of their points into having as many obnoxious projectiles as possible, albeit with the downsides of an exploitable recovery and low kill power.
Neutral Attack – Arm Buster: A charge attack that SSL Mega Man can move during! Quickly tapping the Attack buttons fires up to 3 weak lemons at the opponent, while holding Attack charges up one of SSL Mega Man’s best kill options!
Forward Ground – Slide Kick: A sliding attack with the longest active frames out of any Forward Ground in the original Super Smash Land cast!
Up Ground – Top Spin: A quick spinning multi-hit attack that pops the opponent up for combos.
Down Ground – Leaf Shield: This attack takes a long while to start up, but the reward is a spinning set of orbitals that block projectiles. You also gain a hitbox on top of yourself while the shield is active! Pressing Down Ground again while having a shield dispels the leaves as projectiles.
Forward Air – Hard Knuckle: A powerful projectile fist attack with recoil.
Down Air – Crash Bomber: Fires a spiking, piercing projectile downwards. If the projectile connects with the ground, it’ll clamp itself down, exploding after a couple seconds.
Back Air – Air Shooter: Shoots a weak multi-hit tornado behind Mega Man. This can be very prone to DI, but the long active frames and low landing lag make this attack great for combo extensions.
Up Air – Item 1: Spawns a platform underneath Mega Man for recovery. The platform will slowly move upwards on its own, but despawn after a few seconds. Note that the platform can only be used once per airtime, otherwise SSL Mega Man will perform a tiny hop that puts him into pratfall.
– Please don’t trash talk SSL on this character, or any character for that matter. It’s not only grating, but also makes me less motivated to work on non-SSL projects.
– No one’s forcing you to play SSL! If you don’t like it, that’s fine – just please don’t bully the people who do.
– You can exclude the SSL tag in searches, if you don’t want to see any SSL content on your Workshop page.
– I don’t have any plans on making my original SSL works into full characters.
– Making an SSL character is NOT lazy. I have a lot of other Workshop characters in the works (on top of having a job), and making something with a smaller scope is a nice fun way to boost motivation and just get something out there. What is lazy is complaining to a dev about something they made for fun, while never putting in the effort to make something yourself.
– Yes, people still play SSL! It’s been getting a soft revival recently, and I’ve been playing it a bit with friends!
– I’m still making other workshop content for Rivals outside of SSL.
This character was made as part of a big celebration of Super Smash Land’s original cast, including reworks for the other original Smash Land characters made by Xtra!
