Yeppers, the Waffen-SS (and SS-VT), now in-game. There’s already another mod out there, so take your choice between them, or use them both I guess. Four skins in total with this pack, that’s pretty good in my humble opinion.

Yeah, I know I said this wasn’t a primary project, and it still isn’t. Next up I’m thinking the Red Army or Yanks, but who knows, maybe you’ll get Luftwaffe panzer divisions instead.

Units

The addon includes four models:

  • SS-VT
    • Based on the early Verfügungstruppe units, equipped with an M37 bluse and portraying the ‘Der Führer’ regiment. Oh, he also has VT collar tabs and DF cyphers and cuff title.
  • Waffen-SS (Early)
    • SS dude man with an M36/39 blouse and Leibstandarte textures, he has no camo other than the zeltbahn because I do not know of any lateral camo patterns available on the internet and I don’t really want to make another camo skin anyways. Standard collar tabs and ‘LAH’ cyphers and cuff title.
  • Waffen-SS (Mid War)
    • Generic W-SS soldier with an Oak smock and Palm helmet cover and zeltbahn, he’s probably your best bet for any period if you’re unsure on what WW2 era to choose.
  • Waffen-SS (Late War)
    • Late-war SS man with a Dot-44 jacket (with, yes, the correct 5-button front), and blurred edge helmet cover and zeltbahn. There is no evidence of Dot-44 helmet covers existing which is why I chose to give him blurred edge.

As with my Heer pack, based the early war guys on some tunics I possess (hence why I chose the DF regiment). I reused quite a few assets from my Heer pack (because, why make a whole new set of K98k pouches when I have perfectly fine ones anyways?). I actually used boolean operations so the rigs aren’t as bad as my earlier skins, so that’s fun. As with the Heer, they sit at around 4800 tris as well, so fairly high all things considered. I tested the game with 25 of them (ie. standard 50 the game sets) and it runs just fine without any FPS issues, but be forewarned if your computer is a complete potato.

Mandatory Disclaimer

This addon does not endorse the NSDAP, crimes committed by the Waffen-SS, or any other part of the Third Reich, and is purely made for historical intent. The addon features swastikas and runes, I will censor them if this violates RF Workshop policy. Yes I basically just copied my HARP disclaimer and tweaked it.
