Fractured Frontier is a sci-fi mod project I’ve been sporadically working on over the past few years. As I’m starting to focus on it again, I’ve decided to dust off some old assets with the potential of updating them for a final version. Also includes a test with stylized textures.

Yeah, course I served. GDF 3rd Infantry. Had my ass in the Black Ridge Slog, spent half the year marinating in mud getting told we’d be breaking through at any moment. Armor got stuck in the mud and froze up. Shockframes slipped and sank in the mud. No breakthrough, just waiting in trenches and sitting in mud. We were the first to get issued the A2 Type 49s, the cheap ♥♥♥♥; electronic firing pins kept shorting out on us and we couldn’t get replacement parts because convoys kept getting bogged down in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MUD. And yknow what’s worse? Once we redeployed to LZ Hope, I would’ve gone straight back to the mud if it didn’t mean getting jumped by Canners in some alleyway, or getting flattened by debris cos some stimmed-up Frame jockey thought he could do parkour on a crumbling rooftop, or having to take point at a door that everyone knows is rigged with another IED trap… No clue how I didn’t lose my leg sooner. But good thing I did, my dumb ass had signed up to transfer to the MSF so if it weren’t for my medical discharge, I’d be a Dusty finding all the fun ways to die in space. Poor bastards.
So yeah, I served, but you know what? ♥♥♥♥ em. ♥♥♥♥ TIDEC, ♥♥♥♥ every pair of boots fighting for them. I don’t care if they’re just there for the free drugs or signing bonus or what. If I met my old buddies, I’d kill them. If I went back in time and met myself while I was still in, I’d kill me too. All the same to me. The Compact thinks it can represent all of Tyche? That it can just fight endless wars with everyone who says otherwise, all while the planet’s getting colder? The big cities are getting more crowded, there’s less and less farmland available every year, and TIDEC thinks the solution is to keep the wars going and monopolize spaceflight. ♥♥♥♥ em…
