Last Hope 01 – Ratline to Havana
OPERATION: RATLINE TO HAVANA
Difficulty: ⭐⭐⭐ (3 Stars)
Situation Update:
The Cold War has turned white-hot. Following a silent military coup in Moscow, Soviet hardliners have seized control, launching a massive offensive across the Central Front. However, Washington believes the conflict can still be localized.
A powerful Soviet Surface Action Group (SAG), led by the carrier Minsk and a Slava-class cruiser, has been detected in the Mid-Atlantic, heading for Cuba. NATO Command is convinced that if this formation reaches Havana, Cuba’s entry into the war will be inevitable, opening a devastating "second front" in the Caribbean. Your mission is a desperate diplomatic and military gambit: destroy the "Ratline" in the open sea to keep Cuba out of the fight.
Your Orders:
Admiral, the "Ratline" must be severed now. You have a narrow window to neutralize the Soviet threat before they reach the protection of Cuban coastal defenses.
Prevent Escalation: Neutralize the Soviet SAG before they enter Cuban territorial waters. This is our last chance to maintain the neutrality of the Caribbean.
Coordinate the Strike: Utilize the USS Nimitz air wing and NAS Bermuda B52s.
Identify Your Targets: This is a commercial zone. Positive Identification (VID) is mandatory. Do not give Havana or Moscow a political excuse for further escalation by hitting civilian vessels.
Intelligence Report:
Aerial Threat: Moderate. The Minsk carries Yak-38 Forgers and Ka-series helicopters. Watch the skies for Tu-95 ‘Bear-D’ scouts.
Naval Threat: High. The Slava-class cruiser is a dedicated carrier-killer. Its presence indicates that Moscow expects resistance.
Subsurface: Expect Soviet submarines trying to intercept your forces. Set up proper ASW screening.
Victory Conditions:
Sink both Slava and Minsk. Failure is not an option: if these ships reach Havana, the Caribbean will burn, and the Atlantic bridge will crumble. Intercept and neutralize. The fate of the second front rests on your shoulders.
