[2026.1] Type IX historical range corrections
Current version 1.0.5
This mod provides historically accurate fuel capacities for the Type IXA, IXC, and IXC/40, increasing range for long-distance patrols. It does not modify fresh campaign starts – so you will need to fuel up from 50,000 fuel to the new limits. You will know the mod is working when your fuel tank on a Type IX shows ~63% or ~80% capacity.
The Type IXA will now have a fuel tank capacity of 61,765
The Type IXC will now have a fuel tank capacity of 79,118
And the Type IXC/40 will have a fuel tank capacity of 81,470
These will increase your patrol ranges to easily over 20,000km on half ahead — good hunting!
Tested on 10 May 2026 on 2026.1 Patch 17.

This mod will conflict with anything that edits the uboat.dlc.type-[ixa/c/c40].interior files. The mod lowest down the list will override all other edits to these files. This will mean any mods that change textures for the Type IXs for example will be a conflict.
PARTIALLY SAVE GAME COMPATIBLE
- on loading a Type IX save with this mod it will add the correct fuel capacity to your current type IX’s current capacity, resulting in unrealistically high fuel capacity.
- You can fix this by going to the Flotilla commander, swapping to a different boat (e.g. Type II) and then switching back to the Type IX you want to play on.
- If your save uses anything other than a Type IX it is fully save game compatible.
Make sure before installing this mod you clear your temp, cache and dataSheets folders which are located at:

- Have a think about tweaking fuel buffs on the Type IX from crew tasks – the overall range can approach extremely high values with 2 navigating sailors and 2 on the engines. This potentially detracts from immersion/impacts balance.
- Change all campaign starts so you have a full fuel load when starting on a type IX saving the refuel task. Possible downside is the current need to refuel makes it obvious the mod is working.
