Description:
Dead Isn’t Dead: Enhanced

Dying continues to be just a minor setback.

This is a continuation of qm’s classic "Dead Isn’t Dead" mod, majorly rewritten to add configuration options, increased mod compatibility, and fixes for some issues.

How It Works:

* Checkpoints: Checkpoints remain mapped to the perk reroll scales, visually altered to display a golden ankh. Simply walk near a scale to lock in your respawn location.
* Perk Synergy: Operates after both native perks: Saving Grace and Extra Life.

New Mod Configurations & Customization:

You can now customize your extra life mechanics directly from the Noita mod settings menu (at the main menu or any time in-game) to match your preferred playstyle:
* Configure Total Lives: Toggle infinite lives or set a strict maximum life counter (1-10) for your run. Includes an on-screen Lives UI overlay. Note: changing this in-game will set your current lives to the selected value.
* Wand Spell Refresh: Choose whether your spell charges are fully restored on new lives.
* Gold Loss Penalty: Configure a percentage of gold to drop upon death, adding some stakes to your runs.
* Health Scaling Options: Adjust whether you return at full max health or the default 100 HP.

Modernization & Framework Upgrades:

* Polymorph Persistent Tracking: State tracking has been changed to remain persistent, restoring player health and status after reverting from polymorphed shapes post-death.
* Clean File Appends (for high mod compatibility): Rewritten to utilize Noita’s native script append system. This completely eliminates file overwrites, making it safer to run alongside major content overhauls and large mods.

License & Credits:

A big thanks to qm for creating the original Dead Isn’t Dead mod and making so much more of the game accessible (it helped me immensely in the beginning).

Following the original project’s community discussions, this enhanced continuation carries the same open license. Feel free to enjoy, adapt, and build upon this code!
