Kallista, The Fiery Brawler

"Hell didn’t break me. It just taught me how to punch back."

IMPORTANT

This is my first character and there are a few visual and gameplay bugs. If you find one I have not listed please comment it below. Thank you!!!

ATTENTION: This character was a test of my abilities to RIG a pixel sprite. Additionally I have never balanced a character so it needs some work.

Overview

Kallista is an aggressive, close-quarters brawler powered by pure infernal energy. As a rushdown heavy character, she excels at closing gaps quickly with high damage and even higher end-lag.

Archetype: Rushdown / Heavy Brawler
Unique Mechanic: Hell-Bent
Kallista focuses her energy, surrounding herself in an Orange heat haze.

  • Speed Boost: Increases dash speed, air speed, and initial dash distance for ~5 seconds.
  • Hit Lag Reduction: Reduces hit lag on Kallista’s attacks, allowing her to act sooner after a hit.
  • The Cost: Using this move deals 10% fire damage. This move has a 10 second cooldown indicated by the "energy gauge" on the bottom middle.

Special Moves

Neutral Special – Ember Punch:
Legit just Warlock punch, except it has a 1 in 10 chance to crit!!!

Side Special – Hell-Bent:
Kallista focuses her energy, surrounding herself in an Orange heat haze.

Up Special – Rising Flare:
A charge-able recovery move. There is a Sweet-Spot hitbox that kills at ~100%

Down Special – Flame Kick:
A kick downwards that travels along the stage, stopping when it hits an enemy. The aerial variation moves downwards instead

Grounded Attacks

Jab: A simple punch forward
Dash Attack: A flaming dash forward
Forward Tilt: A strong kick forward that sends the enemy at a 180 deg. angle
Up Tilt: An extremely long overhead kick that does tons of Fire damage
Down Tilt: A quick kick downwards that knocks the enemy upwards

Strong Attacks

Forward Strong: A dropkick that kills at the lowest percent; does the least fire damage
Up Strong: A burst of fire upwards that either sends to the left or right depending on the hitbox; both hitboxes can hit dealing a high amount of damage
Down Strong: A burst of fire downwards that knocks downwards and to the respective side; deals a ton of fire damage, but a low percent

Aerial Attacks

Neutral Air: A rapid burst of fire that slows you down in the air
Forward Air: An arc of fire that hits 3 times and spikes on the final hitbox
Back Air: A quick jab backwards; low range, but nearly 0 endlag
Up Air: A large kick upwards; good for juggling in the air and killing at high percents
Down Air: A dropkick downwards; spikes at nearly any percent, however is very easily punished

Known Bugs And Unfinished Sprites

Up Special Up Special Occasionally Does A Large Dash Upwards, Canceling Hitboxes Other Than Sweet Spot
Walking Sprite Walking Sprite Makes The Character 2 Pixels Taller (I HAVE NO CLUE WHY AND IT WONT FIX)
Color Alternates Certain Color Alternates Have Glitchy Pixels
Back Air Back-air animation not working as intended
