[WOTC] SPARK Launcher Utility Slot
Okay, so I was playing more XCOM 2 yesterday and run into a issue with my SPARKs. I really like the SPARK Launchers Redux mod but it doesn’t come with a utility slot for the SPARKs to actually equip the launchers. For that you need Metal Over Flesh or Mechatronic Warfare and I don’t like those mods. I feel like they change SPARKs just a bit too much.
I prefer Normalize SPARKs and SPARKs Rebalanced which offer much more subtle additions to the SPARK class instead of totally reworking it. But those mods don’t come with a utility slot and therein lies the problem. I’m sure I figured out how to add this in the past that wasn’t a whole extra mod or maybe I had another mod to add the slot in the past that has since been removed from the workshop. All I know is that I used to be able to use launchers in the past and yesterday I could not. I tried a couple of various config changes but couldn’t get a utility slot added to the SPARK class so I made this mod instead. I haven’t made anything with highlander before so it took a bit of trial and error but 6ish hours later I managed to get everything working how I wanted it so I figured I’d share this mod in case anyone else would like to use it as well.
Long story short, this mod adds a custom launcher only utility slot to the SPARK class.
This mod adds a Launcher Utility Slot to your SPARKs so you can equip the SPARK Launchers Redux mod’s SPARK launchers.
If you want to add some subtle tweaks to your SPARKs without completely reworking them I recommend the mods below if you want to avoid the full class reworks that mods like Metal Over Flesh or Mechatronic Warfare achieve.

Gives SPARKS Blast Padding for armour, aligns their hacking stat with specialists and allows them to use PCS.
Normalize SPARKs – https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1143227500
Lets SPARKS bond, gives them an XCOM ability promotion track and gives them ability points for ranking up.
This mod requires X2WOTCCommunityHighlander and SPARK Launchers Redux as dependencies.
It will likely conflict or cause issues if used with any other mods that add a utility slot to SPARKS. (So don’t use it with Metal Over Flesh etc.)
This is a hyper specific, probably very niche mod that probably won’t get much love but hey, if you’re like me and don’t want to completely rework your SPARKs but still want to use the cool launchers then this mod is for you. 🙂
