"If I were to tell half of a tenth of the third of the marvels I’ve seen, then, well, I’d still have a lot left to tell!"
– Nigel Francisco
Born into a important family of Tilean merchants, Nigel Francisco is reputed to be the first man from the Old World to ever venture in the fabled kingdoms of Ind. Or at least that is how he presents himself. While some welcomed his travel reports with credulous enthusiasm, others felt that he tended to exaggerate, when they did not simply accuse him of being a gross fabulist, so full were his stories of wonders, each more improbable than the last – and so often did they show him in the most favourable light. The criticism intensified when he revealed his 25 pieces of so-called ‘suvarna’, a supposed Indan currency, which he offered to the princes of the Old World and which earned him so much wealth and honour that some suspect that it was in fact a pure invention intended to finance his next expeditions. And surely he needs all the money he can get: upon the Kingdoms of Ind once more, he realizes he has to take back Somnagiri, fallen in the Raja’s absence − and the foes are many.

Searching for ‘Suvarnas’
Conquering settlements and administering Indan provinces will allow you to plunder the temples of the gods of the skies, earth and underworld, to obtain ivory, sandalwood and jewels respectively. These three resources can fetch handsome sums on the market, or, more importantly, allow you to craft… I mean, find ‘suvarnas’, a supposed currency you once introduced to the Old World and most nations now want to acquire at any cost – fortunate, right?
Reinforcements from the Seven Seas
Your colonies will only give you access to a limited number of units. To build more diverse armies, you will get reinforcements from seven Races – Empire, Bretonnia, Kislev, Grand Cathay, Dwarfs, High Elves, Ogres – which you obtain in exchange for Suvarnas.
Arts of War
Do not underestimate your own troops. Indeed, being of Tilean origins, Nigel Francisco sure knows how to train elite infantry units skilled in the use of halberds and crossbows – and his travels in Cathay have taught him valuable tactical insights, particularly regarding Harmony. The support of Indan Outlaws and Eastern Beastmen Outcasts will also surely prove useful.
RosterThe faction uses existing units from the four Human Races and a few auxiliaries from the Dwarfs, High Elves and Ogres, except for some Expeditionary Troops, Indan Outlaws and Eastern Beastmen units.
But you have to rely heavily on their Reinforcements also.
Explorer (Sword)
Explorer (Blunderbuss)
Masters of navigation, unrivalled cartographers and skilled generals, Explorers develop rare talents during their travels, amassing invaluable knowledge… and, of course, considerable fortunes. They are sought after by the rulers of the Old World, eager to establish trading posts in distant lands and bring back treasures from Lustria and the Far East.
Jamadar
Jamadar is an ambiguous title, as it is used by regular armies as well as mercenary companies and criminal guilds. Both commanders and paymasters, they are most often charismatic leaders whom their men will follow into the most perilous – and above all the most lucrative – ventures.
Veteran
These seasoned warriors from various parts of the Southern Sea have fought in hundreds of battles in the infantry squads of various Tilean Dogs of War. This means, on the one hand, that their experience has made them seasoned tacticians, capable of holding the most delicate front lines, and on the other hand, that their long careers as mercenaries have accustomed them to living far from their land, to the point that they no longer suffer from homesickness.
Taggee
The Taggees are a feared caste in the Kingdoms of Ind. Devoted to a nameless goddess, they are trained from a very young age to carry out her will: restoring balance through vengeance. They can wipe out a unit of bodyguards to reach a leader without batting an eyelid, and are equally capable of wreaking havoc in enemy ranks by striking behind the lines.
Pariah
Rejected by their people, many Eastern Beastmen outcasts embark on careers as mercenaries in the hope of amassing enough glory and fortune to return to their tribes as heroes. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, these outcasts are fierce fighters, and with their downfall freeing them from the need to seek honour on the battlefield, Pariahs often become masters of guerrilla tactics.
