Faction Upgrade (Southern Hive) ENG
Faction Upgrade is my series of mods aimed at improving the various factions of the Kenshi world. The mod will affect the following things:
1. Weapons and armor
2. Cities and bases
3. Units
4. Dialogs
5. Starts
The Faction Upgrade (Southern Hive) mod aims to improve the faction of the same name.
Changes:
Town
All faction cities have been improved in my mod Urbanism+ (Hive), I recommend using it with this mod. (except for the Queen’s Hive, which has been modified in this mod)
The Queen’s Hive has been transformed into a mountain fortress, protected by turrets and sturdy gates on all sides. Farms have been established near the city, and the Hive now features a faction armor and various goods store.
The Southern Hive has planned a large-scale expansion into the southeastern part of the continent. Each captured settlement will provide benefits in one form or another.
After Savant’s death, the hive will capture the Skinhouse and Skinhouse Headquarters. These locations will feature a faction store and a Recruit Barracks.
After the Elder’s death, the hive will capture the Iron Headquarters, where they will establish a production facility for cheap hive prosthetics (the vendor can be found in one of the iron houses). If you have my mod FU (Skeleton Bandits) installed, the Iron Headquarters will also feature a food store.
After the death of the Crab Queen and Valamon, the hive will capture all their settlements. These locations will feature faction stores, forges, and Recruit Barracks. The Crab Town will also have a large construction materials store.
Lore and dialogues
The Queen gives each of her warriors a chance to become famous in the upcoming war. By talking to her, you will receive instructions in the form of vague visions. By following the Queen’s instructions, you can earn rewards from her. When you defeat all of the Queen’s enemies, you will receive a special item that allows you to hire any patrol as an escort.
In the Queen’s Hive, you can encounter the Gorillo Tamer. If you have defeated any of the enemy leaders, he will recognize you as a skilled warrior and allow you to purchase his beasts. The Battle Gorillo will be armored in steel and will be a valuable asset in the war.
In the southern lands, you may encounter lost drone fleeing from the hive. If you are not a member of the Southern Hive, you can help them by taking them into your team. The workers will follow you regardless, while the soldiers will only follow you if the character you approach is a swarm from any hive, and the prince is smart enough to demand money. If you are allied with the Southern Hive, you can only attack them.
All hive have heads in their inventory that can be sold. Separating the head will result in death. The Queen now has a purple color.
If you are raided by the Western Hive, Crab Raiders, Reaver, or Skins Bandits, and the Queen is still alive, the Southern Hive will send reinforcements to your base.
Squads
After the death of certain leaders, hive patrols will begin to appear in their lands.
All units have been reinforced with archers and new characters called Bloodhounds. These are workers who have been broken by the loss of their parasite, with their tongues cut out and driven to madness. They act like wild animals, accompanying units and hunting down fugitives.
Units that respond to the death of the Queen or King have also been reinforced with additional warriors.
All faction settlements are now guarded by Battle Gorillo. The Queen’s Hive has the most of them, and they can be purchased.
As the war requires more and more new fighters (including for your unit), I have added Recruit Barracks to all captured cities. These are where the Worms, the new recruits of the hive, train. You can choose any of them and add them to your unit. This process can be repeated every two days. Over time, the barracks will be filled with new Worms.
Swarms that have managed to escape the Hive after the death of their parasite have formed into bands of Purple Khan mercenaries. These mercenaries can be found throughout the southern coast.
