Description:
⚠ EXPERIMENTAL FORK — READ FIRST

This is an unofficial, experimental fork of Iridar’s Appearance Manager. It adds one thing: making Appearance Manager’s Appearance Store work alongside Unrestricted Customization (WotC / Redux). Testing is limited. Back up your Character Pool before using it.

⛔ DO NOT RUN THIS WITH THE ORIGINAL APPEARANCE MANAGER

You cannot run this mod and the original Appearance Manager at the same time. They use the same package name and the same class overrides — enabling both will break Appearance Manager entirely.

Unsubscribe / disable the original first: Iridar’s Appearance Manager (original)
This fork also replaces CharacterPoolManager, so (like the original) it is incompatible with other mods that replace it — Extended Character Pool, Sorted Character Pool, etc.

What it does

Unrestricted Customization decouples the cosmetic torso from the equipped armor. Appearance Manager keys its per-armor Appearance Store off the torso, so with UCR installed it normally disables the Stored Appearance screen and drops Manage Appearance to "current appearance only."

This patch keys the store off the actually-equipped armor instead, so:

  • Each armor keeps its own saved appearance under UCR
  • Stored Appearance and the full Manage Appearance screen work with UCR active
  • The Validate button cleans up the broken/collapsed entries UCR created

Configuration

Controlled by bUCR_EnablePerArmorStore in XComAppearanceManager_DEFAULT.ini, section

[WOTCIridarAppearanceManager.Help]

Ships enabled. Set it to false for stock Appearance Manager behavior under UCR.
Limitation: forward-correct only — appearances saved under UCR before installing this cannot be recovered; the Validate button deletes those broken entries.

Compatibility

Companion content

Appearance Manager supports premade uniform packs. You can experiment with Modpocalypse: Uniforms for Appearance Manager for a set of ready-made uniforms. Untested with this fork — feedback welcome.
