Cartels In Shun
The sequel to Cowboys In Dreg is here, and it builds even further off of its framework!
Three major cartels (and a subjugated government) have been added to Shun, complete with new uniforms to match the Latin-American feel. The three major cartels includes Tren de Poder, Tren de Fuego, and Cartel del Sentir. The main three (Los Tres) are members of an uneasy pact, and can be joined, destabalized, and/or dismantled.
Tren de Poder is the authority and ruling cartel, controlling Shun with an iron fist. Simply looking at their capo Toro Rojo wrong is enough to get you killed, respect his authority. Joining them means you get to borrow their strength for yourself- if you can rank up.
Tren de Fuego is the firearms manifacturing/modification cartel, functioning more like an ultra capitalistic syndicate rather than the typical criminal faction. Ruled by El Gallo, its members are afforded perks relating to their title- with higher rank individuals being able to call in more favors, like caravans of specialist firearms and ammo just for them.
Cartel del Sentir is your drug cartel, operating within Poder’s cities to manufacture and distribute drugs across Shun and the wider world. An alliance with them is easy access to cheap bulk drugs for smuggling, making them the best option for profit. Joining Sentir does *not* lock you out of the other cartels, either.
The three major cartels feature their own ranking systems, with the player being given tasks to complete before being able to move up the ranks for further rewards and perks.
The Cartels also have the capability to expand eastward if the player takes on the United Cities, providing more content than just Shun alone- complete with brand new bounties being added as well for those seeking to hunt them down. Cartels In Shun has a whopping total of 106 (at present) overrides for towns (both new and vanilla).
Along with Los Tres comes an assortment of minor cartels all fighting for their own corner as well, with the player being able to join or destroy them at will. Each minor cartel has its own niche, purpose, and benefits for the player. Be it selling people to Sangre Alta for organ harvesting, or smuggling gold for La Mano Dorada. Each capo also has their own bounties and meitous, making them rewarding (but challenging) targets for the bored player.
New content includes:
• Armored ponchos and iron sombreros (with leather variants)
• Federale uniforms
• Melee weapons, including: Axes, Cavalry Swords, and Falchions
• Meth production (complete chemistry system, with pseudo cooking and all)
• Cocaine production (grow coca and boil it in fuel to make cocaine base, then dry in an oven)
• Opiate crafting (grow poppies, process into opoium, turn into laudanum, purify into heroin, or use to make painkillers for personal use)
• Counterfeiting Benches (melt copper alloy plates into bulk cats for direct, no selling required profit)
• Modified CIDR guns, including tweaked Remington-Lee, Marlin, Winchester, and Spencer variants.
• The brand new G43- a rare, ancient weapon brought back by Fuego for exclusive use.
Cartels In Shun is actively being worked on, so more content is *still* likely to come.
