RAN and ARA Sea Lynx MOD
Workshop ID: 3636566336
This mod adds the fictional Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Sea Lynx, Mk.30, Mk.31, and Mk.32 and the historical Sea Lynx, Mk.23 of the Armada de la República Argentina (ARA) to Sea Power.
In an alternaty history timeline the RAN successfully developped its Australian Light Destroyer (DDL) project and purchased some HAS.2 and HAS.3 Sea Lynx helicopters to serve onboard these ships. The 808 Naval Air Squadron, which had been disbanded in 1958, was reactivated in this occasion.
This mod features 4 different Australian Lynx models spanning the late 70s, 80s and 90s.
The Mk.30A is a fictional version of the Sea Lynx used by the Royal Australian Navy similar to the British Lynx HAS.2, equiped with a British ARI.5979 Sea Spray Mk1 radar but with the addition of a MAD. It can carry two Mk44 torpedoes and four Sea Skua ASM.
The Westland Sea Lynx Mk.30B is a 1980s upgrade of the Australian Sea Lynx Mk.30 fitted with a M130 Chaff/Flare dispenser. Armed with two Mk46 torpedoes replacing the Mk44s and four Sea Skua ASMs.
The Westland Sea Lynx Mk.31 is the Australian version of the British Sea Lynx HAS.3 with a chaff dispenser, a FLIR and a MIR-2 Orange Crop ESM system added, making it perfectly suited for reconnaissance missions as well as ASW. it is armed with two Mk46 torpedoes and four Sea Skua ASMs.
The Westland Sea Lynx Mk.32 is the Australian version of the British Sea Lynx based on the Mk.31 with some additional equipment intended to make it even more versatile by adding some ground attack/anti-tank capacities. In addition to a chaff dispenser, a FLIR and an ESM system the Mk.32 features the same roof mounted optical sensors than the AH-7 Lynx of the British Army, allowing it to engage ground targets with BGM-71 TOW missiles. It can still carry Mk46 torpedoes or Sea Skua ASMs.
And as a bonus:
The Armada de la República Argentina (Argentine Navy) operated two Sea Lynx delivered in 1978 which served on both Type 42 destroyers “ARA Hercules” and “ARA Santisima Trinidad” in the 1er Escuadrilla de helicópteros (1st Helicopter Squadron). These two Sea Lynx Mk.23 were similar to the Royal Navy HAS.2 and Brazilian Navy Mk.21 types. They were extensively used during the 1982 Falklands/Malvinas War until mechanical failures, caused by the lack of spare parts, and accidents grounded both airframes.
The Royal Navy Mod Pack is required and needs to be loaded in the following order in the Mod Manager to work properly:
- 1st: The Royal Navy Mod Pack
- then the present mod: RAN and ARA Sea Lynx MOD

Important (about mods and mods use):
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that mods can break early access games.
Jane AustenThis mod has been tested and is running perfectly on my computer (i7-11800H @ 2.30 Ghz – 16 GB RAM – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050) with no other mod enabled. However, since they are as many computer configurations than computer users, it’s unfortunately impossible to guarantee it will work on yours.
Be aware that by installing mods for Sea Power, you are modifying your game experience from the original intended product which is still, at this mod’s release date, in EARLY ACCESS. Therefore, later game updates/patches may cause this mod to be deprecated. Although it is unlikely, the presence of other enabled mods might cause conflicts, and the more enable mods on your computer, the greater the chance of conflict. So, to sum it up, USE MODS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If you wish to clean uninstal this mod make sure to follow these steps: 1) Uncheck this mod in the mod manager. 2) Click on Accept. 3) Unsubscribe. Then make sure the mod’s file is no longer in the C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappsworkshopcontent1286220 folder.
