ECML Station Pack
Now expanded from just the one station, this pack now includes blueprints for 40 stations! Whilst a tiny bit of a misnomer as some stations included technically aren’t on the ECML, their inclusion has been added out of player convenience, since it’s very likely if you’re building the ECML, you’ll want to use these stations too.
The following station blueprints included are as follows:
Berwick-Upon-Tweed
Bradford Forester Square
Bradford Interchange
Cambridge
Cleethorpes
Darlington
Doncaster
Dunbar
Durham
Edinburgh Waverley
Ely
Finsbury Park
Grantham
Grimsby Town
Harrogate
Hartlepool
Haymarket
Hertford North
Hull
KGX + St Pancras Thameslink
King’s Lynn
Leeds
Lincoln Central
Middlesbrough
Morpeth
Newark Northgate + Newark Castle
Newcastle
Northallerton
Peterborough
Retford (Both high and low level)
Scarborough
Selby
Sheffield
Shipley
Skipton
Stevenage
Sunderland
Wakefield Westgate+ Wakefield Kirkgate
Welwyn Garden City
York
This blueprints are accurate enough and have correct speed limits and acceptable signalling placement, perfect for those wishing to recreate the ECML on NIMBY Rails. Data was sourced from a combination of the Sectional Appendix (Sep. 2024), OpenRailMaps and a tiny bit of guesswork.
You require MissCatTrap’s UK Track and Platforms to use this blueprint.
ADDITIONAL NOTES AND INFO FOR STATIONS:
– Ensure that the right train length is used at platforms since if a train is too long, it could end up blocking the signal and causing massive delays.
– Some speed limits and signals are altered/omitted due to NIMBY Rails’ limitations.
– Metros and tramways that serve a station are not included. This includes the likes of Sheffield, Newcastle and KGX.
– Depots are NOT included in this pack. Add them yourself, sorry.
KGX
– Station is done to 2021 track layout, with the 3rd Gasworks Tunnel brough back in use and the removal of P10.
– As a bonus, this also includes St Pancras International’s Thameslink Platforms and it’s connecting Canal Tunnels. The two stations are connected via walking distance.
– P0 – P8 should all accommodate the maximum standard trains in use with Great Northern Thameslink, LNER, Lumo, GC and Hull Trains.
– P9 and 10 are restricted to trains of 8 coaches (less than 170m.)
– The signal at P9 is slightly forward in case you want to use the Class 365s, which are slightly longer than the Electrostars and Class 700.
– Even though the Class 373 doesn’t run on the ECML anymore, those wishing to revive it would like to know that it can only fit on P0 and P1.
– On some bits, KGX’s speed limits are different southbound vs northbound. I’ve used the Northbound limits since they are faster.
– The Southbound signalling is significantly reduced due to it being a bit of a pain to sort out in NIMBY Rails. It’s best that you do it yourself to what works best with you.
Thanks and have fun!
