Installation and removal: You can install the mod at any point during your playthrough. However, REMOVING the mod on a current save will lead to a game crash! Make sure to create backups of your saves.

⚙️ MOD FEATURES
- Loyal comrades: Companions inherit the player’s faction. They will attack all your enemies. (Note: there are rare exceptions in the form of scripted NPCs or mutants that they will ignore — for example, the bandits from the Duty member’s quest near the Cement Factory).
- "Living backpack": Use companions to carry your loot. You can exchange items with them and take them back at any time through the standard trading menu.
- Protection from Controllers: Zombification has been removed. Since the game currently lacks a working method to grant full immunity to this skill, it was disabled. The Controller can still zombify regular NPCs, but your companions have massive psy-resistance and will keep their sanity.
- Mortality: THEY CAN DIE. Companions have a lot of health and high regeneration, but if you lead them into a deadly anomaly or accidentally empty a couple of magazines into their face — they will die. Dead companions do not respawn.
📍 WHERE TO FIND COMPANIONS
In total, you can find six potential companions in the Zone. Look for them in the following locations:
- Flea Market
- Malachite
- Cement Factory
- Rostok
- Skadovsk
- Yanov
🎮 CONTROLS AND TELEPORTATION
- Hotkey: Teleporting all companions to the player is bound to the ‘F7’ key but can be changed in settings. If you get stuck in a narrow passage and the NPCs won’t let you out, simply step back and press the key to move them to you.
- Auto-teleport: Companions will automatically teleport to you if the distance between you exceeds ~200 meters.
- Note: Sometimes the auto-teleport might not trigger (for example, when fast-traveling via a guide to the other side of the map). In this case, just use the manual teleport with the H key.
🐛 KNOWN ISSUES
- AI Behavior (AI-mesh): There are areas that companions cannot traverse. This is most likely due to flaws in the AI-mesh placement on the map. The companion’s logic cannot figure out how to navigate the path, so they simply stop.
- Solution: Use the manual teleport button.
