If Steam Input is off: Pause the game, put your controller down on a flat surface, and hold down the calibration button (Share/Minus) for a second or two without moving the controller.
To avoid this next time, leave the controller down while launching the game. It calibrates automatically on every launch.
If Steam Input is enabled: Calibrate through the Steam settings.
If Steam Input is enabled, make sure to use a Gamepad template, and don’t bind gyro to anything. The mod reads gyro data directly, and mouse inputs may cause problems.

If the problem persists, consider opening a GitHub Issue[github.com] with your game logs attached.
To find your logs, press Win + R and enter the following:
This should open a folder. Look for "Player.log".
