Description:

Blackout: Non-Lethal Framework — stun weapons, Fortitude skill, and hostage system.

Capture first, ask questions later.

STUN SYSTEM
Stun weapons fill a hidden consciousness bar instead of dealing permanent damage. When full, the target falls unconscious for about 1 minute and wakes up unharmed. Four visible stages: Dazed, Disoriented, Heavily Stunned, About to Collapse. Armor mitigates stun up to 70%. Fortitude skill reduces it further.

FORTITUDE SKILL
New skill that rises through combat. Reduces stun taken, reduces physical damage, raises the KO threshold up to 150% at level 20. Highly trained fighters recover from knockouts faster.

WEAPONS
– Riot Baton: iron-reinforced baton available from the Medieval age. Forged at any smithy.
– Dart Pistol / Dart Rifle: ranged tranquilizers. Requires Gunsmithing.
– Electric Baton: fast melee with EMP discharge. Requires Electric Weapons research.
– Taser Pistol: guaranteed KO at mid-range, applies EMP. Requires Electric Weapons research.

HOSTAGE SYSTEM
When colonists are kidnapped, a rescue camp appears on the world map. Permanently hostile factions torture immediately. Hostile factions start at day 10. Neutral factions never torture. Non-permanent factions may send ransom demands.
